1.Alcove Plus Desk: A Haven for Focused Work
Alcove Plus Desk is a freestanding workstation designed to provide users with visual and auditory privacy, making it ideal for concentration on tasks. Available in three sizes, the desk can be equipped with a portable partition screen attached to the side panel using a zipper, offering additional privacy. This feature also allows the creation of traffic patterns in the office, forming niches or larger structures.
The concept of a “room within a room” has been a continuous pursuit for Vitra in collaboration with designers Ronan Bouroullec and Erwan Bouroullec. Originating in 2006, the development of the Alcove series, with its mobile micro-architectural elements, has led to the introduction of new models over the years. The Alcove high-back sofa’s side and back panels, standing at nearly one and a half meters, come with cushions and fabric coverings that effectively absorb sound, providing a relaxed appearance and enticing comfort. Suited for contemporary office concepts, Alcove aligns with the evolving nature of workplaces, emphasizing the need for flexible options and a holistic approach to design.
The Alcove series goes beyond the characteristics of simple furniture. With varying heights of side and back panels, the Alcove units create multiple rooms within a room, catering to focused work or small meetings. The series comprises two groups: Alcove and Alcove Plus. Alcove group products feature visible frames and ample floor clearance, imparting a ventilated, flexible, and lightweight feel. Depending on the model, variants with low side and back panels for easy communication, wheels for increased flexibility, or interior padding with selectable hardness are available. Alcove Plus components differ in that their panels extend to the floor, concealing the frame, and include optional movable partition screens connected to high side panels via zippers. This facilitates increased privacy, establishes traffic patterns within the office, creates additional niches, or forms larger structures. Alcove and Alcove Plus also make an ideal combination for mixed configurations, providing structure to open layouts and their workflows. Due to the flexible design of these structures, they can easily adapt to new requirements. The stitched fabric-covered panels create a casual and secure atmosphere while effectively absorbing ambient noise.
Material Description:
The main body/structure comprises side and back panels made of organic fiberboard core and a metal frame connected by a zipper. The stitched cover comes with polyester fiber filling. The zipper on the front edge of the side panel can connect to the optional Alcove Plus Paravent. The metal frame stabilizes the back and side panels and supports the tabletop.
The cover is removable. The tabletop options include a 25mm thick, high-density three-layer particle board with melamine coating, ABS edge (3mm); or MDF board with powder coating (textured finish); or oak veneer (from Europe) with straight veneer edge (2.5-3.0mm). The table height is 740mm. The cable basket is made of steel wire with black powder coating, measuring 444 x 114 x 164mm. The maximum quantity of large office desk baskets is 3; medium office desk baskets: 2; small desk: 1. The legs are tubular steel, chrome-plated, or powder-coated (smooth). They have non-slip glides and horizontal adjustment +/- 10mm.
For electrification, when selecting “Table Electrification,” suitable ports (120 or 180) need to be configured as per requirements and ordered separately with power cable, cable duct, under-table electrification, distribution block, etc. At least one Alcove Plus Desk cable basket is required for each port. The simplest electrification version does not require ports; cables can be installed on the surface between the tabletop and the panel. The minimum requirement is one cable basket, one power socket panel, and one power supply cable. These need to be ordered separately.
2.NesTable: Flexibility Redefined for Modern Workspaces
In today’s open-space office environments, the need for private spaces and quiet areas for focused attention is recognized. Lounge sofas and comfortable breakout zones are ubiquitous, but what about working from a recliner? Enter NesTable with its fully adjustable platform height and tilt, offering a solution to this unique challenge. This versatile table is spacious enough for temporary work on a laptop yet compact enough for flexible, multifunctional use.
NesTable’s fully adjustable platform tilt and extensive height range allow it to be used at the low height of a recliner or at the standard desk height. The flat, asymmetrical base conveniently tucks the small table close to an armchair or sofa. With these features, NesTable becomes the ideal solution for the agility and flexibility trends in current workplaces and home offices. The table’s height is adjustable using a simple locking lever on the table legs, and the tray angle can be adjusted via a handle underneath the top. There are two practical grooves on each side to secure the table better when moving it to different positions. The stable structure of NesTable is powder-coated and comes in a variety of colors.
Material Description:
The tray is made of polyurethane, the column is made of steel with a powder-coated textured finish, and the extension rod is made of steel with a polished chrome finish. The base is pressure-cast aluminum with a powder-coated textured finish.
3.Compas Direction: A Timeless Classic for Modern Home Offices
Compas Direction features slender, elegant splayed legs designed by Jean Prouve in 1953, reminiscent of the hinged arms of a compass — “le compas” in French. With compact dimensions, this office desk is an ideal choice for modern home offices.
Material Description:
The tabletop options include naturally oiled solid oak, dark oak with a protective natural lacquer finish, or oiled walnut veneer. The base consists of bent steel plates with a smooth powder-coated finish.
